Media processing chip supplier to provide Discretix CryptoCell® security platform for highest level of content protection
BEVERLY, MA, USA - May 21, 2007 Vivace Semiconductor, a leader in digital media processing chips, today announced it has licensed Discretix CryptoCell® security platform for Vivace's VSP family of processors, providing a complete security solution to Vivace's portable media player, smart phones and mobile handset customers. The Discretix CryptoCell platform combined with Vivace's high performance ViViDT media processing core provides multimedia devices with the highest level of content protection, enabling a broad range of premium content services.
Moving forward, the CryptoCell security platform will be adopted across Vivace’s VSP family of next generation media processors and will be fully integrated with its existing OMA and WM-DRM 10 to provide a high performance, tamperproof DRM solution. Additionally through licensing the CryptoCell™, Vivace will be eligible to gain full FIPS 140-2 certification.
With CryptoCell technology in place, Vivace’s mobile media player customers will benefit from a robust cryptographic framework that supports a complete range of protection, from boot-level security to advanced digital rights management. The addition of CryptoCell security platform onto Vivace’s family of processors will give portable media player and handset manufacturers optimized security that covers the device as well as all onboard applications and content protection support.
