Discretix Multi-Scheme DRM Client on TI's M-Shield™ Mobile Security Platform

Solution ported to TI's OMAP™ 2 platform, offering handset OEMs faster time-to-market and hardware accelerated support for multiple DRM standards

ORANGE COUNTY CONVENTION CENTER / BOOTH 2335, ORLANDO, FL -
March 26th, 2007 -
Discretix, the leading provider of embedded security and DRM (Digital Rights Management) solutions for mobile devices and flash memory, today announced the Discretix Multi-Scheme DRM client for Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI's) OMAP™ platform. Discretix' Multi-Scheme DRM takes advantage of TI's M-Shield™ security technology for the OMAP platform creating a robust, highly secure and future-proof DRM solution that shortens development time and provides DRM flexibility in mobile devices.

During CTIA Wireless 2007, Discretix is exhibiting at Texas Instruments' exhibit in Booth 2335 at the Orange County Convention Center to promote the Discretix DRM client on TI’s OMAP platform to mobile device OEMs and application providers.

"Digital rights management is of crucial importance with the massive increase of mobile entertainment content being downloaded. Discretix Multi-Scheme DRM leverages TI's M-Shield security technology on the OMAP platform, giving device manufacturers a robust security solution that is validated and market-ready," said Markus Tremmel, worldwide manager, Texas Instruments Cellular Systems Ecosystem.

"Hardware-based security solutions such as TI's M-Shield technology on the OMAP platform are the most effective way to meet stringent requirements for mobile content protection," said Edo Ganot, EVP Sales and Business Development for Discretix. "TI and Discretix address the market with a unique combination of field proven DRM solutions and an extensive knowledge of hardware-based embedded security."

Discretix Multi-Scheme DRM supports the broadest range of major DRM standards including OMA DRM v2.0, Microsoft WM-DRM 10 and i-Mode DRM including CPRM/SD-Bind. In addition to support for these schemes, the technology is able to accommodate new standards as they become available.

Discretix Multi-Scheme DRM complements the capabilities of TI's M-Shield mobile security technology. M-Shield technology is the key security element of TI’s OMAP processors, offering a complete menu of security capabilities including secure flashing and booting, hardware cryptographic accelerators, secure execution environment, random number generation and more. TI's OMAP and OMAP-Vox platforms deliver the best combination of high performance and ultra-low power consumption for a full range of mobile devices, from feature phones to multimedia-rich 3G wireless handsets.

The Discretix DRM solution is expected to be available on OMAP processors in 2 nd Quarter of 2007. For more information, visit TI’s CTIA Wireless 2007 exhibit at Booth 2335 or log on to www.discretix.com/prod_drm.shtml.
