Virage Logic and Discretix present a technical webinar on robust, reliable, low-cost security solutions

Industry leaders provide integration insights for comprehensive hardware-based security using NOVeAŽ embedded flash memory and Discretix's embedded security platforms for system-on-chip (SoC) designs

FREMONT and SAN MATEO, Calif., March 21, 2006 -Virage Logic Corporation (Nasdaq: VIRL), a pioneer in Silicon Aware IPT and leading provider of semiconductor intellectual property (IP) platforms, together with Discretix, the leading provider of embedded security and digital rights management (DRM) solutions for mobile devices and flash memory, today announced they will partner to present a free online technical webinar titled, "Security Made Solid with Non-Volatile NOVeA." The live webinar will be broadcast via TechOnLine on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. EST. Registration and information about the free, one-hour webinar is available at http://seminar2.techonline.com/s/viragegr3_mar2606.

Due to surging demand for DRM and identity protection, ensuring the security of digital information has become increasingly critical for logic designers. Virage Logic and Discretix are collaborating on this informative webinar to explain how the integration of their respective products addresses the security concerns of SoC designers while minimizing size, power, cost, and design time, and enables the implementation of a cost-effective, highly secure system on a standard CMOS process.

Discretix, the leading provider of embedded security and DRM solutions for mobile devices and flash storage, has integrated NOVeA as a secure non-volatile memory component with their embedded security solutions, CryptoFlashT and CryptoCellT. The integration of NOVeA ensures that the unique device key created and encrypted using the CryptoCell or CryptoFlash solutions can be stored in hardware on chips in a cost-effective and secure manner.

"NOVeA complements CryptoCell and CryptoFlash to provide comprehensive security solutions for mobile devices and flash memory," said Edo Ganot, executive vice president of sales and business development for Discretix. "Our security solutions utilize a secure non-volatile memory module as their 'root-of-trust,' forming a secure foundation for applications such as DRM."

"We are pleased to partner with Discretix to bring SoC designers the solutions they need to provide an efficient, reliable and low-cost security sub-system for mobile and storage devices," said Jim Ensell, vice president of marketing and business development for Virage Logic. "With Discretix's expertise in helping customers meet their security requirements in a broad variety of applications, we're confident webinar attendees will gain valuable insights into how to protect and secure their digital information."

This webinar is the second in a series of eight Virage Logic-sponsored educational webinars addressing timely and critical design challenges facing SoC designers. Each webinar in the series features a different industry-leading company from Virage Logic's VIP Partner Program and will provide an integrated approach to helping SoC designers successfully leverage the most advanced technologies available for accelerating their silicon success. About NOVeA

As the industry's first non-volatile, electrically alterable embedded memory solution that can be produced using a standard logic process with no additional mask or process steps, NOVeA is designed to be readily integrated into today's most advanced System-on-Chip (SoC) designs manufactured on leading-edge deep submicron processes. NOVeA employs a patented single poly floating gate Fowler-Nordheim technology for writing. NOVeA includes a powerful controller and instruction set in an architecture that provides 100% cell redundancy. The result is an extremely reliable, high yielding embedded non-volatile memory (NVM) that can be manufactured on standard CMOS logic processes with ultra-low manufacturing cost and power consumption. NOVeA can be reprogrammed in-system up to 100,000 times and has specified endurance of 10 years at 125C. The use of NOVeA and associated development tools and views provides users with a secure design solution while reducing overall SoC mask costs, silicon costs, design risk and design time

About Virage Logic Corporation

Founded in 1996, Virage Logic Corporation rapidly established itself as a technology and market leader in providing advanced embedded memory intellectual property (IP) for the design of complex integrated circuits. Today the company is a global leader in semiconductor IP platforms comprising embedded memories, logic, and I/Os and is pioneering the development of a new class of IP called Silicon Aware IP. Silicon Aware IP tightly integrates Physical IP (memory, logic and I/Os) with the embedded test, diagnostic, and repair capabilities of Infrastructure IP to help ensure manufacturability and optimized yield at the advanced process nodes. Virage Logic's highly differentiated product portfolio provides higher performance, lower power, higher density and optimal yield to foundries, integrated device manufacturers (IDMs) and fabless customers who develop products for the consumer, communications and networking, hand-held and portable, and computer and graphics markets. The company uses its FirstPass-SiliconTCharacterization Lab for certain products to help ensure high quality, reliable IP across a wide range of foundries and process technologies. Headquartered in Fremont, California, Virage Logic has R&D, sales and support offices worldwide. For more information, visit www.viragelogic.com.
