Handset security is a key component of the OMTP mobile applications framework
 San Mateo, California August 22nd, 2005 -Discretix the leading provider of embedded security solutions for mobile devices and flash-based memory, today announced its participation in the Open Mobile Terminal Platform (OMTP) group.
Founded by leading mobile operators, the OMTP group aims to define platform requirements for mobile devices to deliver open, standardized application interfaces providing subscribers with a consistent and improved user experience. The OMTP group intends to achieve its goals by identifying common mobile operators' requirements, with the aim of establishing an open framework for mobile device manufacturers and associated software and hardware suppliers.
Security is a central component of the application framework, ensuring application integrity, device security and a trusted execution environment. Discretix will take an active role in defining requirements and bring its vast experience to bear in the definition process.
