Discretix, a leading provider of embedded security solutions for mobile devices, smart cards and mass storage announced today that SanDiskŪ (Nasdaq: SNDK), the world's leading memory card vendor, has licensed its CryptoFlashT, Discretix's recently released embedded security solution for flash memory. SanDisk and Discretix are working together to incorporate Discretix's crypto technology into SanDisk's advanced, highly secure memory cards.
CryptoFlash includes hardware core intellectual property that enables high data rate, on-the-fly, cryptographic performance without any performance degradation. In addition, the CryptoFlashT solution includes a broad range of infrastructure security software modules. CryptoFlashT will be integrated into SanDisk's latest generation flash microcontroller that is targeted at enabling e-commerce applications in secure mobile phones. Robust, high performance security is expected to open new applications for SanDisk' Flash storage cards. SanDisk expects to introduce the first crypto-secure products incorporating the Discretix technology in the first half of 2005.
