Discretix solution provides a secure operating environment for cryptographic tools, extends capability to applications and protocols
 San Mateo, CA. February 13, 2004 - Discretix Inc., announced today that it will work with Texas Instruments Incorporated (NYSE: TXN) to develop security solutions for wireless platforms. The collaboration with Discretix is part of TI's overall strategy to address growing security concerns among service providers, consumers and wireless original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
Increasingly, service providers are demanding that terminal suppliers manufacture mobile phones with strong International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) protection and the implementation of SIMlock. As phone theft has become a growing industry problem, secure information store and protecting a phone's identity has become even more critical. TI is leading the market in addressing this need with a silicon-based security solution.
Applying its understanding of the embedded environment and the resource limitations of mobile devices, Discretix will develop security protocols, infrastructure software and applications for TI's OMAPT platform and family of TCS Chipsets. Based on Discretix's field-proven CryptoCellT technology, these software components will provide a secure environment in which TI's silicon-based security solution can operate, and extend that capability to security protocols and applications.
