 Netanya Israel, 27 January 2004 - Discretix announced today the commercial availability of its newly expanded product offering - CryptoCell®. This fourth generation of CryptoCell delivers higher performance, additional countermeasures against attacks and yet reduces gate count. These innovations represent a further enhancement to the previous version by reducing bill of material, increasing the overall security while offering improved performance.
CryptoCell encapsulates a comprehensive vision of security in the mobile environment through a multi-layered approach, with each layer forming a critical part of a fully integrated security solution. CryptoCell includes a co-processor Intellectual Property core, security infrastructure software, device applications and device agents designed specifically for the embedded environment.
Discretix' software solutions can be customised according to customers' needs and include among others, Digital Rights Management agents, over the air device management clients, VPN clients, device anti-theft solutions (Secure SIM and IMEI blocking.) and secure storage. To obtain optimal security, applications are built over the Discretix' comprehensive security-
infrastructure layer. This layer includes PKCS#11, WTLS, SSL, WIM Token, Certificate Handling, and industry standard APIs.
The multi-layered approach offered by CryptoCell enables manufacturers to rapidly integrate the security demanded by network operators for the latest mobile applications. This is achieved with minimal impact on Bills of Material and without degrading handset responsiveness, a key factor in user satisfaction.
For carriers, CryptoCell ensures network and m-commerce integrity through user authentication, provides protection for content through DRM and enables sophisticated options for disabling handsets after loss or theft.
Users of handsets enabled by CryptoCell will benefit from faster response when using applications which depend on encryption. They will also gain access to a wider range of applications as providers are able to rely on secure authentication.
