Discretix CPRM Client Will Give Mobile Device OEMs Pre-Integrated, Standards-Based Security, using SD Memory Cards

TOKYO, JAPAN — October 20, 2008 – Discretix, the leading provider of embedded security and DRM (Digital Rights Management) solutions, announced today that its content security CPRM Client, will be made available for ACCESS Linux Platform™, an integrated, flexible and complete commercial-grade LINUX® platform designed for the worldwide mobile phone and converged device markets. Discretix CPRM (Content Protection for Recordable Media) secures the distribution and use of music, video and other premium content on SD cards and mobile handsets. As a software-based security solution, CPRM Client eliminates the need for a dedicated hardware CPRM chip, reducing Bill of Materials cost and greatly improving flexibility for mobile device OEMs.

Fully compliant with 4C-Entity standards, CPRM Client protects music, movies, photos and other multimedia content subject to commercial digital rights while in use or in storage. The solution can be used in parallel with other DRM (Digital Rights Management) schemes such as OMA DRM, WM-DRM (JANUS), i-Mode and ECFM, allowing manufacturers to address multiple standards on a single device.
