Gal Salomon - Chairman of the Board, Discretix Founder
Mr. Salomon founded Discretix and led it as CEO from inception until August 2010
Prior to founding Discretix, Mr. Salomon was Product Manager at Intel Corporation's Cellular Communication Division (CCD), where he held full responsibility for the CDMA, PDC, TDMA and W-CDMA R&D Groups. Mr. Salomon began his career in the semiconductor industry at Intel, where he served as the Validation Manager of the first Pentium MMX chip developed at Intel Israel. He also held the position of Product Manager at DSPC.
Mr. Salomon holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from the Recanati Graduate School of Business.
Aharon Aharon, Board Member
Aharon Aharon has 30 years of experience in the high-tech industry. Mr. Aharon served as Chairman of the Discretix board of directors from 2004 to 2010. Mr. Aharon founded Camero in 2004 and served as its CEO for 5 years. Prior to that he served as the CEO of Seabridge, a Siemens (NYSE: SI) company, and as COO of Zoran (NASDAQ: ZRAN). Aharon started his professional career at IBM Research Division where he managed the VLSI and CAD tools activities.
Aharon holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology where he currently serves as a member of staff in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science faculties.
Coby Sella, Discretix CEO
Mr. Sella was appointed CEO of Discretix on August 2010. He brings 20 years of experience in the mobile and consumer electronic industries. He has held numerous senior positions in the development and management of application processors, having gained extensive experience in the commercialization of technology for the consumer electronic industry.
Mr. Sella served most recently as Senior VP and General Manager of Zoran's mobile division (NASDAQ: ZRAN), covering the digital camera and mobile handset markets. Under his leadership, Zoran's digital camera business grew to over thirty percent market share. Prior to joining Zoran, Mr. Sella held various positions at DSP Group, IBM and National Semiconductor.
Mr. Sella holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technion, the Israel Institute of Technology.
Isaac Hillel, Pitango Venture Capital
Isaac Hillel joined the Pitango team in early 2000, after 14 years of executive management experience in the computing and Internet industry in Europe and in the United States.
Before coming to Pitango, Isaac was an Executive Vice President of NEC Computers International (formerly Packard-Bell NEC) in charge of all Computer Divisions in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. During his tenure at NEC, Isaac built the operation in Europe from a group of 10 entrepreneurs to a company of 2000 people. Along the way, he managed mergers and joint ventures, and established Packard Bell as the leading brand in the home computer market with over $1.5 billion in sales. He also occupied a board seat on 9 NEC subsidiaries located throughout Europe, served on the company's Executive Committee, and was Chairman of its Worldwide Internet Strategy Committee. Prior to his years at NEC, Isaac held several marketing positions with consumer electronics manufacturer, Casio.
Isaac received an MBA degree from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Tel Aviv University.
Randy L. Ditzler, Sequoia Capital Israel
Randy Ditzler is a Partner with Sequoia Capital Israel and focuses on systems and software investments.
Prior to joining Sequoia Capital in 2004, Randy served as the CEO of Actona Technologies (CSCO). Prior to joining Actona, Randy was the Founder & CEO of Telegis Networks. Earlier, Randy was the Founder & CEO of MarketOne Builders and before that the President & CEO of Freestone Investments.
Randy has a BS in Industrial Technology from California State University in Fresno.
Martin Gibson, Accel Partners
Martin has been active in international technology start-ups and venture capital for 18 years and focuses on the communications and semiconductor sectors.
Prior to Accel, Martin was a Partner at Atlas Venture in London where he invested primarily in communications and semiconductor businesses for 9 years. Whilst at Atlas Venture Martin sat on the boards of DisplayLink, Phyworks, Azea Networks (acquired by Xtera), and Zinwave. He also worked closely with Orthogon Systems (acquired by Motorola), Icera Semiconductor, Ubiquisys, Radioscape and Xelerated. Previously, he was a general manager and consultant at Scientific Generics, a business & technology consulting firm, focused on technology-driven commercial products. Earlier in his career, while at start-ups Cellstack and Madge Networks, he was responsible for video and data communications products for enterprise markets. He also worked within ANSI and the ATM Forum defining new communications standards.
Martin has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management, a BA in Electrical & Information Science from Cambridge University and qualified as a Chartered Engineer.
Yair Shoham, Genesis Partners
Yair joined Genesis Partners in 1999, focusing on communications investments. Yair's in-depth understanding of the semiconductor and video systems and distribution markets was integral to the success of Genesis Partners' investments in Modem-Art, a semiconductor company which was recently sold to Agere Systems for $145 million, and Scopus Video Networks, an enabler of video distribution over IP networks, which recently went public on NASDAQ. Yair is currently on the board of Advasense, Arootz, Discretix, InFone, Oree, RADWIN, and Resolute Networks.
Prior to joining Genesis Partners, He helped establish Butterfly VLSI, a successful Genesis Partners portfolio company, and led its sale to Texas Instruments. Yair joined Butterfly from VDOnet, which he co-founded in 1996 and where he successfully co-led the sale of VDOnet's technology to Citrix Systems. He began his career practicing securities and corporate law, first in the US and then in Israel, where he was a partner at Goldfarb, Levy, Eran & Co.
Yair holds a JD from Loyola University School of Law and a BA from Haifa University.
